45th preview of the Reading theatre for people with poor eyesight and blind
This was the 45th preview of the Reading theatre for people with poor eyesight and blind – we presented it on 23 September on our Small Stage. “Do Not Disturb” (Une Heure de tranquillité) by Florian Zeller was as usually directed by Ewa Pilawska on a voluntary basis. There were many spectators from beyond Łódź. We are determined to broaden the range of the influence of the project – thanks to the funds we received from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage for the realization of the project. “Do Not Disturb” (Une Heure de tranquillité)
There are days when you dream that the world would just stop. You want to be left alone for a short while, forget about the world around you, sit in your favourite armchair, read your favourite book or listen to your favourite music. This is the plan for a Saturday afternoon of the main character of “Do Not Disturb” by Florian Zeller. But as luck would have it just then his family members have some important business and his next-door neighbour decides to pay him a visit. The author in a masterly manner gives more and more reasons for the guests to disturb the main character and this is the opportunity for Zeller to show the emptiness of the play’s characters. It is a perfidious fate that makes people disturb you just in the very moment that you want to be left alone and not to be disturbed. Zeller presents a perfect picture of modern interpersonal relations. With lightness, precision and liking for his characters he portrays people lost in their emotions who as a matter of fact are lonely. But still the story is full of humour and funny twists in the plot.
