Anthology of contemporary Polish comedy

Although the book weighs 795 grams it is not a proverbial dull remainder. On the contrary – it is an excellent reading not only for directors looking for good texts for the stage – Stefan Drajewski, „Polska Głos Wielkopolski”, 30 May, 2011.

In 2010 Powszechny Theatre published first part of „Anthology of contemporary Polish comedy”. It contained texts that had been awarded in two first editions of the „Comedywriting” competition: „Psycho-Thera-Politics” by Dominik W. Rettinger, „Next-ex” by Juliusz Machulski, Reshuffle” by Paweł Mossakowski, „Life” by Jarosław Jakubowski, „Kochanowo” by Przemysław Jurek, „Summer Villa” by Fred Apke and Marta Klubowicz, „Passenger Train to China” by Dominik Nowak, „Sex, Metro and iPods” by Olga Pietkiewicz and „My Son Brother’s Mother” that was specially written for Polish Comedy Centre by Juliusz Machulski.

„Anthology…” was sent to theatres and cultural institutions in Poland to promote contemporary Polish comedy. Both magazines „Teatr” and „Dialog” noted its contribution to the promotion of contemporary Polish drama.

„Anthology of contemporary Polish comedy” is available in Powszechny Theatre.
