Crowds of spectators at the 46th preview of the Reading theatre for people with poor eyesight and blind

The house was more than full during the 46th preview of the Reading theatre for people with poor eyesight and blind. The original project of director Ewa Pilawska dedicated to people who have troubles with their eyesight has become more and more popular. Our warmest thanks to all spectators who came to Łódź specially to visit Powszechny Theatre.

On our Small Stage we presented “The Kiss” (“De Kus”). This is the first play of Ger Thijs translated into Polish. It tells the story of an accidental meeting of a man and a woman. She knows she can lose everything soon because she is terminally ill. The cancer leaves her with no illusions – she has to look at herself as a human being, persistent and weak at the same time. He feels that in reality he has lost everything. They are both exhausted, they do not want to live any more, they remain in their emotionless relationships, they do not see any future ahead. They both would like to have a new life chance. They set out for their last journey that is going to decide what their future will be like.

Can an accidental meeting in the mountains allow them to find a sense of life? Can a stranger become our best friend who gives our life a new colour and lets look at it from a new perspective? “The Kiss” is a story full of humour and brilliant dialogues. A story about hope, about “light in a tunnel” that can be brought unexpectedly by a stranger.
