„It Runs in the Family” – full house, standing ovation

It was the 47th preview of the Reading theatre for people with poor eyesight and blind – on 25 November we presented „It Runs in the Family” by British master farceur, Ray Cooney. The play on our Small Stage was directed as usually by Ewa Pilawska on a voluntary basis. This time we had guests not only from Łódź but from Poznań and Kalisz as well. The atmosphere was familiar, everybody had fun and again the house was more than full.

The play is set in a London hospital. It is Christmastime and everybody is getting ready for Christmas. But in the doctors’ lounge Dr. David Mortimor’s quiet life suddenly goes upside down when old ghosts haunt him to remind him about his incautious love affairs. Then the spiralling chaos of deceit, false identity and manic cover-up takes place. Is Dr. Mortimor able to deal with it? How can he pull himself together in this new situation? Will he succeed in hiding his troubles from his wife and the hospital’s management?

The preview ended with a standing ovation. Thank you for being with us! We invite you to our next preview on 9 December.
