„Kindly Leave the Stage”

It was the 40th jubilee preview of the Reading Theatre for people with poor eyesight and blind – we presented it on 15 October (International Day of the Blind) as a part of the project in which Ewa Pilawska has always directed all plays on a voluntary basis.

John Chapman’s „Kindly Leave the Stage” was presented on our Small Stage. It is a play within a play – a great, sometimes bitter and sometimes moving comedy about the theatre actors. It tells about the influence of their private lives on their profession and vice versa, about the meaning of success on stage and the time to leave it.

After the spectacle Ms Lilianna Szymarek from the Łódź branch of Polish Union of the Blind thanked for all previews that had been produced within the project and for the Theatre engagement in the initiative for the blind. Our actors who had been long engaged in the project: Karolina Łukaszewicz, Beata Ziejka, Andrzej Jakubas and Mirosław Henke were presented with medals „Friend of the blind”.

Later we invited our our guests for a jubilee cake which was sliced by Ewa Pilawska – the originator of the Reading Theatre for people with poor eyesight and blind. Thank you for your presence and we invited you to the next preview.
