Matinées in Powszechny Theatre

Matinées in Powszechny means spectacles for our youngest spectators combined with art and theatre workshops. The project is dedicated to children aged 6 to 10. Its aim is to stimulate the participants‘ imagination through art games connected with theatre. Simple plastic materials such as coloured ribbons, paper, baloons, paints and feathers are used during workshops. The programme gives us the idea of how many surprises there are in a world that surrounds us.

  1. Workshops „Everybody can fly“ – after every performance of „My Dad’s a Birdman“ for children aged 7 to 10.

The aim of the workshop is to develop the participants‘ spacial imagination. The art games stimulate their manual development and give many possibilities of experimenting with picture, light and sound. The participants will make their own wings and „a flying machine“ and they will learn „how to fly“.

  1. Workshops „Magic sounds“ – after every performance of „Mr A‘ Amazing Maze Plays“ for children aged 6 to 10.

What is music for? When do sounds become music? How is sound produced? What is the role of sound in the theatre? The answers to these questions will be found during unusual music workshops. Their aim is to get to know „a small world“ of sounds that surrounds us and to find the richness and variety of the world of music.
