Krum
Video-show of Krzysztof Warlikowski’s play co-produced by TR Warszawa and The Helena Modrzejewska National Stary Theatre in Cracow. Krum is regarded as a classic of Polish theatre and also Warlikowski’s most mature work. For directing Hanoch Levin’s play Warlikowski received an OBIE Award 2008 given by The Village Voice weekly and a prestigious Russian Meyerhold Award for exceptional accomplishment in theatre worldwide.
Krum’s leading character returns to his home city where he is welcomed by his mother, friends and the whole community. But the world he the faces there is afflicted with some kind of paralysis. As if the reality he is returning to ceased to move while expecting something that would finally make sense and unleash the course of events.
