„Where the film was born...” - opening of the exhibition

An exhibition „Where the film was born...” was opened on April 11 in the Opus Gallery in Łódź. It was another part of the jubilee events of Powszechny Theatre's 70th anniversary and it followed the installation of Allan Starski's star in the Walk of Fame in Łódź. The exhibition is strictly connected with the spectacle „Song Factory” which is coproduced by Opus Film in Łódź.

The exhibition was opened in the Opus Gallery which is situated in the former Łódź Feature Films Studio (Wytwórnia Filmów Fabularnych) building in Łąkowa Street. It tells a story of how film industry was born in postwar Łódź. Here you can see archived photographs, fragments of films, multimedia presentations of film creators – Leonard Buczkowski, Ludwik Starski, Danuta Szaflarska and Jerzy Duszyński. Mieczysław Kuźmicki is the custodian of the exhibition which will be opened till 25 April.
