It Is Dangerous To Quit the Stage – panel discussion
Powszechny Theatre in Łódź, Small Stage

The simplest interpretation of the title of the panel discussion accompanying the Festival brings associations with the birth certificate. What does it mean when an actor/director/critic leaves the stage? What is the danger of such gesture, often forced by circumstances or just by the age of the artist?

The participants of the discussion will try to enrich this typology with successive levels of presumptions. Can a resignation from a specific project or series of actions stimulated by disagreement on institutional activity be also a security catalysis? Or maybe it is accepting the perspective of the so-called lesser evil? Finally, does it sometimes happen that the artist has to leave one stage to appear on another one (implicitly – change the path of search, actions, or even change the style)? Exciting figures from the world of theatre, cinema and visual arts were invited to talk about this fascinating topic.

Moderator: Łukasz Maciejewski
Guests: Jowita Budnik, Agata Duda-Gracz, Magdalena Łazarkiewicz, Iwan Wyrypajew
