Maja Komorowska to get star in the Łódź Walk of Fame (Piotrkowska Street)

“Excellent”, “magnificent”, “masterly skill” – this is what critics wrote about Maja Komorowska after the spectacles presented during the International Festival of Play Pleasant and Unpleasant. The spectators  (in the Audience Plebiscite) awarded her as the best actress of the 14th edition of the Festival. On Saturday June 26 Maja Komorowska will get her star in the Łódź Walk of Fame in Piotrkowska Street. Our sincere gratulations!

We have remembered the thrilling nights when Maja Komorowska took part in several editions of our Festival. For the first time we had the pleasure to see her as Cecily Robson in Ronald Harwood’s “Quartet” directed by Zbigniew Zapasiewicz. During the 12th, 14th and 16th editions of the Festival the great actress took part in three plays directed by Krystian Lupa – as poetess Mary in “Extinction” by Thomas Bernhard, as Idrina Arkadina in “Unfinished Play For an Actor” (based on “The Seagull” by Anton Chekhov) and as Anna Meister in Thomas Bernhard’s “Over All the Mountain Tops”.

-I am deeply honoured by the fact that we could entertain you during our Festivals of Plays Pleasant and Unpleasant. Of Course we all keep in our memory  your film roles but I am very glad that our festival audience had the possibility of seeing your great theatre roles – Ewa Pilawska, artistic director of International Festival of Plays Pleasant and Unpleasant, wrote in a special congratulatory letter.

Maja Komorowska’s star will be situated close to the stars of Barbara Połomska and Michał Szewczyk – two great actors  of Powszechny Theatre in Łódź – that were unveiled last year. It has been a symbol that actors of the same generation meet in Piotrkowska Street in Łódź – the actors who have been theatre masters and examples of theatre ethos for young actors.
