Second season of „The Maid Advises” to premiere on 4 February!

Powszechny Theatre in Łódź starts the second of its internet theatrical series “The Maid Advises”. The first episode of the second season will appear in YouTube at 6 p.m. on 4 February and it will be free of charge for all viewers in Poland and all over the world.

“The Maid Advises” is the first theatrical internet series during the pandemic while theatres are shut down. The Powszechny Theatre actors met with the help of on-line communication channels to realize a completely unknown theatrical-internet form. The maid Nadia together  with other series’ characters advised viewers how to live throughout  pandemic, commented on the situation, fought for seniors, looked for solutions in no-win situations… The series was broadcast in YouTube and in TOYA Television (main media patron) between March and October 2020. Several  thousands of viewers watched each of the series’ 30 episodes.

-The first season was a challenge for us, both from artistic as well from technological  point of view. But as it soon turned out that the viewers’ interest surpassed all our expectations, so we start the second season – says Ewa Pilawska, the Powszechny Theatre director, who was the author of the idea. – The power of the first season was in its changes from one week to another, that it was a reaction to what was just happening around us. Now we can even say that it was a sort of pandemic diaries. It was important for us to remind our viewers that we were with them, to show that in those difficult times we should be better for each other, that we all needed more empathy. We brought up important, difficult subjects but due to its comedy form the series was kind of laughter therapy – adds Ms Pilawska.

The second season starts on 4 February. The episodes will premiere at 6 p.m. on Thursdays. After the first preview the episodes  will be shown in the Powszechny Theatre YouTube channel.
