Special mobile app for the blind makes way to the theatre easier

Since October Powszechny Theatre has had a special TOTUPOINT marker for the mobile app that was created for people with vision defect. Our theatre is the only cultural institution in Łódź with this marker which is synchronized with a modern mobile app. 

The app  makes it it easier for the blind to find the way to the theatre, to know the way to our stages, to the theatre bufet, the cloak room and the toilets; it also tells the user where the steps are and how many of them are there to climb over. Powszechny Theatre is one of 27 institutions in Łódź with this marker but the only one among the cultural institutions. It is worth mentiong here that for 12 years our theatre has produced the Reading theatre for people with poor eyesight and blind project – the original idea of our director Ms Ewa Pilawska.

The app was created by Jan Szuster. TOTUPOINT system has been dedicated to smartphones (both with Android and iOS).
