The 57th preview of the Reading theatre for people with poor eyesight and blind

On 19 October we presented the 57th preview of the Reading theatre for people with poor eyesight and blind. The play “Kasta la Vista” (“Cochons d’Indie”) by Sèbastien Thièry  was directed – as usual on a voluntary basis – by Ms Ewa Pilawska. After the spectacle the Powszechny Theatre director thanked two companies – Veolia and Amcor – who have been the project’s partners and sponsors for many years.

Financial support for the theatre makes it possible to realize many artistic and social projects. Reading theatre for people with poor eyesight and blind is one of them. – We are glad when we think of next previews that will be possible thanks to your involvement. The previews have always been invaluable – they build a feeling of bond and eliminate borders and divisions among people – Ewa Pilawska said after the spectacle.

At Powszechny Theatre the blind always watch a new spectacle that is produced specially for them. This time it was “Kasta la Vista” (“Cochons d’Indie”) by French playwright Sèbastien Thièry. The play was translated by Bartosz Wierzbięta, the author of Polish language versions of such animated films as „Shrek” and „Madagascar” as well as Marc Camoletti’s “The Maid”. The play reminds us that social rise and financial success do not always guarantee happiness and calm. Jacek Kraft, a successful real estate agent, becomes convinced of that. One day he goes to the bank to withdraw some money from his account. This trivial situation starts an avalanche of unexpected and absurd events.

Thank you for being with us! We invite you to our next preview in November.
