„The Biedermanns” made it to the final of the 31st edition of The National Competition for the Production of Polish Contemporary Drama Play

We begin this week with excellent news – our spectacle „The Biedermanns” made it to the final of the 31st edition of The National Competition for the Production of Polish Contemporary Drama Play. The jury selected our production out of more than 100 Polish dramas. We congratulate all finalists!

The spectacle is a moving story of a Łódź family of industrialists and at the same time a universal story of humanity, of human dignity. Director Ewa Pilawska reached for the Biedermann family story and invited two artists to produce the spectacle – Anna Wakulik (the playwright) and Adam Orzechowski (the director). This has been another spectacle (besides „Tango Łódź” and „Maria”) in which we recall forgotten Łódź history.

In the next stage of the competition the jury will see and evaluate all final productions. The jury which consists of Martyna Kander, Marcelina Obarska, Sebastian Majewski, Agnieszka Wolny-Hamkało and Agata Biziuk will do it between 8 May and 20 June. Names of the laureates of the 31st edition of the competition will be announced at final gala on 30 June – then the Artistic Board and Jury prizes will be awarded.         

We will present „The Biedermanns” this coming weekend – on 9, 10 and 11 May.
