„...hit, hold, hit, hold, kick, push, kick, breathe...”

„Touching the Void” by David Greig is based on a fascinating book of the same name by Joe Simpson – a mountaineer  who fought a heroic fight for his life while climbing the Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes. He slipped down an ice cliff, breaking his right leg. He had survived the 150-foot fall and then he spent three days without food and with almost no water, crawling and hopping five miles back to the base camp. „Touching the Void” is a universal tale of modern man, his needs, human endurance, survival and loneliness. Of our civilisation and no contact with yourself. What do we desire? What are we for? What do we miss? What do we run from? It is a story of difficult choices, of determination, friendship, passion and life on a edge. But first of all it is a story of need for freedom. Everybody has his own summit to climb everyday – what is yours?
