Energetic first presentation of „Appearances”
Energetic first presentation of „Appearances” which took place on Friday, 20 October, had an ovation reception and introduced us to a very positive weekend. It was not a coincidence that the comedy by Marc Camoletti, directed by Jakub Przebindowski, was shown just now as this autumn we will celebrate the author’s 100th birthday – Camoletti is widely rocognized as one of the best comedy playwrights. Specially for Powszechny Theatre – Polish Comedy Centre „Appearances” („Pyjama pour six”) was translated by Bartosz Wierzbięta.
After the show director Ewa Pilawska and deputy mayor of Łódź Joanna Skrzydlewska (who represented mayor Hanna Zdanowska – the honorary patron of „Comedywriting” competition) handed the awards to the laureates of the competition for writing a modern Polish comedy. Our congratulations go to the laureates and to Ms Joanna Skrzydlewska for her feeling of the stage and a talent for improvisation!
This was an exceptional night thanks to all of you.
We would like to recall that the jury decided to award the following prizes:
- 1st prize to Paweł Mossakowski for „Zielona polana” („Green Glade”),
- 2nd prize to Jerzy Rubaszewski for „Kamienica przy teatrze” („Tenement House Next To the Theatre”)
- 3rd prize to Katarzyna Knychalska for „Dzień ósmy” („The Eighth Day”),
- special distinction to Marcin Bałczewski for „VHS”.

- Małgorzata Bogajewska (director of Teatr Ludowy in Cracow),
