„Pleasant and unpleasant…” – exhibition of posters of International Festival of Plays Pleasant and Unpleasant opened in Galeria Opus

Since 6 March, 2023, you can visit Galeria Opus to see the exhibition of our festival’s posters. The exhibition „Pleasant and Unpleasant…”  was opened on Monday by Barbara Dzięcioł and Ewa Pilawska. 

- Galeria Opus is a magic place, and Barbara and Piotr Dzięcioł are extraordinary figures in the Łódź culture. They have been friends of Powszechny Theatre and of the festival, we have been through thick and thin together. We go the same mutual way – we inaugurated Galeria Opus with the exhibition of Krystian Lupa’s photographs, a few years later we presented the exhibition which accompanied the production of „Factory of songs”. My thanks to Basia Dzięcioł for her decision to present the history of the festival posters this year – Ewa Pilawska, director of the festival and of Powszechny Theatre said.     

At the exhibition you may see the posters which accompanied twenty editions of the festival. The gallery was inaugurated by Franciszek Starowieyski who created the poster for the ninth festival. Later many outstanding poster artists such as Waldemar Świerzy, Rafał Olbiński, Eugeniusz Get-Stankiewicz, Michał Batory and Andrzej Pągowski prepared their works for the festival.

All posters are presented in Galedia Opus in March and April. We invite you to the exhibition!
