Austerlitz

 „Austerlitz” in State Youth Theatre in Vilnius based on the novel by W.G.Sebald is a monumental spectacle, heavy with the burden of contexts and the subject, a traumatic experience of milions of people that cannot be understood by the 21st   century man. In Lupa’s spectacle we come to know Austerlitz (for the role Sergejus Ivanovas was awarded with Gold Order of Stage – the highest Lithuanian theatrical decoration) at the railway station in Antwerp where he is taking photos of mirrors  which seems to be his passion. There he meets Narrator-Sebald (Valentinas Masalskis) and their relationship becomes a pretext for looking for the truth and discoveriong your own identity. Austerlitz, a young man, becomes more and more sick and anaemic man as if the process of recovering his mind has sucked his life energy dry.
