Climate Keys. Concert-project

Concert-project

It will be the first Polish presentation of this concert-project founded by British pianist and composer Lola Perrin. In 2016 Perrin was worried by changes  leading to climate warming and then she asked herself a quesion everybody should ask: „What can I do to stop the environment’s degradation?  What can I do to protect climate?”

And then the idea of „Climate Keys” appeared – a series of piano concerts connected with lectures by an expert of global warming. The original idea of Perrin met with enormous enthusiasm and that is why she decided do invite pianists from all over the world to the project. At present there are almost 200 musicians on the list and a Polish pianist Joanna Wicherek among them.

Repertoire of each concert and the subject of the lecture are always dedicated to the place in which they are presented. The Polish presentation at the 28th International Festival of Plays Pleasant and Unpleasant was prepared especially for Łódź. There will be three concerts accompanied by a lecture and free discussion with the audience – prepared by Małgorzata Smolak, an expert on climate protection. Each of the concerts will touch the problem of climate and its changes due to environmental problem. The project presented at the Festival will be entitled „Air”.

Which Łódź districts are most polluted and why? How does it affect our lives? What are its economic costs? Who and to what extent is responsible for polluting the air in Łódź and the region – in other words how our neighbours poison us and what does regional  law say about it? But „Climate Keys” is an ideal opportunity to ask yourself a question: „What can I do about it?”
