After many years of creative work with words, ideas, elevated thoughts, after years of living in a literary circle, a writer suddenly realizes that when she dies her husband will not have enough money to organize her burial. This is a story about man  confronted with herself/himself, with close people, with officials, clerks, mother, husband. But is also a story of those other people confronted with the writer. This all is included in an unusual situation-test, built up by the writer as a result of extreme helplessness, a test that she tries herself with some cruelty. “Honour Row” is written by one of the most interesting modern poets. Jarosław Mikołajewski uses a perfidious, mocked despair or – if you wish – desperate irony with a lot of tenderness and even poetry. Is it a lifetime account of the artist? Or maybe an account of everybody who cultivates dreams for all of her/his life and finally has to collide with harsh reality? – Please do not detect my own experiences in this history – asks Jarosław Mikołajewski. - The hero of the play is stick together from different persons, from my own figure too, but – as it is said – similarity to the real world is delusive.
