The popular proverb says that fear doubleth all. But everybody is afraid of something. Trivial as it may sound but it is absolutely true. Because fear is with us despite our age. We are afraid of darkness and everything that is hidden by it, we are afraid of new places and of strangers, we are afraid of not being accepted by others, of not coping with challenges, of disappointing other people or ourselves. And though the fear that accompanies us changes all the time, life needs courage at every stage of it.
Marysia is a typical teenager and starts to understand that. Previous fears become less and less terrific and sometimes they seem to be even funny when compared with new, “adult” fears she is confronted with in a new school. Will she manage to overcome them? Will she find enough courage? And what is courage after all? Does everobody have it? Where can you take it from?
The story of Marysia shows that even if you think you are the most frightened person in the whole world you can still be the most courageous one. This is a story of friendship, of believing in your own opinions, but first of all of courage of being yourself.
